Dimitar Popov
Radev’s coalition has so far tried unsuccessfully to create a parliamentary majority behind Silvi Kirilov. The aim was to replace Glavchev with a new caretaker prime minister and to trigger new, early eighth elections.
In this service coalition, which is hidden behind the word “technical chair”, PP Dogan, Vazrazhdane, ITN, MECH and ASP were lined up. They have 101 MPs together and because DB and BSP refused to participate in their conspiracy, their number did not pass.
But the coalition around Radev is alive and well
to mix up the country’s political landscape
It showed two dangerous trends that we need to be aware of in the future.
One of them is that there are enough parties of the “Gagno Balkanski” type, who are ready to become archpodec if only they are in power. For example – some details make me think that according to Radev’s plan, the new caretaker government would have been a coalition and each party would have received ministries. Whether the Ministry of the Interior appointed him for Gela, foreign affairs for Vazrazhdane, PP finance, Ministry of War ITN, and Dogan traditionally for agriculture, I do not know, because the arrangements were very secret There are no details yet, but I am sure of one thing – such unanimity between the PP, Vazrazhdane and Dogan can only be achieved if Radev promised them large portions of the official ministries with the option of the keep repeating if the next one. parliament fails.
The other movement is even more dangerous than the “Ganivska” and it even has an ominous face, which is so ugly that it should worry not only the democratic community in our country, but also the European friends us. All parties that voted for Silvi Kirilov are either completely dependent or have dubious ties to the Kremlin, which sends them
in the column “pro-Russian parties”
Evidence is not needed for Vazrazhdane – the party is involved with the Russian ambassador in Sofia and just after the elections he met with him for instructions. The request to leave NATO and abandon the Eurozone is just a detail in their strategy to become a Russian sphere of influence here again.
ITN is so dependent on Radev / or his wife / that in three consecutive parliaments he has only done the bidding of the president – by opposing support to Ukraine, by sabotaging a regular government in June, and now by pushing the president’s man to become prime minister. minister
MECH is a party that is reported to be supported by Vasil Bozhkov – a person from the Magnitsky list, who has close ties to Russian interests around his gambling business, but people from Radev’s offices found a place there too.
For Dogan, one need not look for many arguments. I only remember one statement made by the Turkish foreign minister 7 years ago, in which he openly accused Dogan of being an entrepreneur.
surrender to the Russian secret services
As for PP – they were created by the Russian resident Rumen Radev and have two presidents – Petkov, who is ready to negotiate with Vazrazhdane at any time, and Asen Vassilev, who had unregulated relations by Lukoil Neftohim and by Russian gas companies in the Balkans. , and moreover, together with other MPs from the PP, he voted against aid to Ukraine.
In this company, as can be seen, only the BSP is missing – also a party that has never hidden its connection with the Kremlin.
What would have happened if the socialists, with their 20 deputies, had supported Radev’s official coalition? Silvi Kirilov would be elected by a pro-Russian majority, supported by 121 votes in the Bulgarian parliament. Now imagine that Velichie came with them with a dozen messengers! Then they will have almost 130 deputies and they could even form a regular government.
Sociology has long shown that Russophiles in Bulgaria make up about a third of the Bulgarian population. Some time ago it was 51%, but after the war in Ukraine, many people stopped supporting Putin. 33% Russophiles are not enough to change our geopolitical direction, right!
However, in the political elite the balance is completely different.
Half of our deputies are on the Kremlin’s behalf,
some openly, some covertly, but all working effectively for Russia! Putin already controls most of Bulgaria’s parties – some through Radev, others through energy projects, others through corruption. Such a majority in the parliament is a good basis for changing the geopolitical direction of the country. This could tempt Putin to openly ask his friend Trump about a new division of the Balkans. I don’t know how Trump will react, but I am sure that the parties in the Bulgarian parliament will prepare bread and salt for the new strategic alliance…
The stories that the Russian threat in Bulgaria was exaggerated, that there was no threat to our geopolitical options, are stories to attract attention. In this parliament, the Kremlin has a strong power center in the person of Radev, and enough parties serve him to form a regular government.
With such a geopolitical balance in our domestic politics, things are not rosy at all. They are likely to become even more unpopular after each early election as the protest vote and voter dissatisfaction
more and more “toxic” leaders appear on the scene
I am sure that the ambassadors of NATO and EU countries are very concerned about this situation in our country. However, the majority of voters, especially those who sleep and dream liberal prose dreams, do not harm the impending threat. Their awakening will be a surprise to them and to others. I don’t know if there will be time to respond, but seeing how passive the Euro-Atlantic parties are, I think that time is running out for all of us.
