/ world today news/ For us, it is obviously a declarative statement, the purpose of which is to create additional internal contradictions in the BSP. This was stated by the leader of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, in connection with the “outstretched hand” of Georgi Parvanov and ABV.
The issue of partnerships during local elections is not on our agenda at the moment. But first we will talk with our partners from BSP Left Bulgaria. It is clear to us that it would be very difficult to achieve political partnerships with a party that participates in right-wing governance, supports such right-wing governance and above all votes for right-wing measures. That would be extremely unprincipled, Mikov added. He emphasized that “you cannot take away these 408 BGN reliefs from the working poor, you cannot support the freezing of all social payments – for mothers, for first-graders, those 14 measures that the right-wing government froze as payments, and say that you are for demographic policy, taking into account the country’s crisis situation”. This is another attempt to weaken the influence of the left in Bulgaria, Mikov is categorical.
It turned out that with regard to the judiciary within the ruling coalition itself, there is a clash, there are disputes. This was said by Mihail Mikov in response to a question about whether the BSP will support the updated strategy for the continuation of judicial reform.
Mikov believes that the government is trying to compensate for priorities and policies with circular messages packaged as reforms. He pointed out that the same applies to the pension item. called a reform that began with certain reforms that later turned out not to be implemented. “Perhaps as soon as they will not be applied, the rule of law should have a repealing law, and not a prime minister’s veto on non-application of the laws. Because the rule of law is not only the reform of the judiciary,” said Mikov.
He added that there are enough unresolved and controversial issues in the Judicial Reform Strategy. “We understand that some of the coalition partners in the ruling coalition do not support this type of development of the processes in the judiciary. So the opposition should not compensate for the lack of support in the ruling coalition on one issue or another,” stressed Mikov. According to him, it turned out that there are disputes in the coalition regarding the judiciary. “I think that much more could be done for positive changes regarding the judiciary if legislative initiatives were cleared to make the system more transparent, which would not lead to such scandals with the random allocation of cases. There are a number of issues , which are not undisputed,” said the BSP leader. He pointed to “the indisputable question of an intermittently acting SJC”. It also sounds absurd to him that there will be permanently sitting committees that are auxiliary bodies and a non-permanently sitting body.
Regarding what the BSP will do regarding the sanctions against Russia, Mikov said that they will stand for consideration in committees in the National Assembly with all the arguments why Russia’s sanctions and counter-sanctions against EU countries are extremely harmful to the economic development of the EU and lead to heavy losses for Bulgaria.
In response to a question about the speeches on the occasion of the presidential elections, Mikov said: I like the idea of Mr. Borisov’s lady to be the president of Bulgaria. He emphasized that there is a lot of time until then, and the pent-up interest in this topic replaces other important issues of everyday life.
