ROMA – “Human beings come first. And the right to care for everyone, in Italy and in the world.” This is the commitment of EMERGENCY for 30 years, which today, in a period of global emergencies, relaunches its business even more strongly “No to war”: at Christmas, a small gesture is enough to support the work of the NGO and give peace a chance. From November 24th to December 24th, in the EMERGENCY stores it is possible to find many gift ideas and thus support its projects in Italy and around the world.
The cities where to find the shops. From Christmas decorations and handmade cups from Uganda to accessories sewn and embroidered by Afghan women, from Christmas baskets to the association’s t-shirts signed by contemporary artists and designers: these are just some of the many products that can be purchased both online and in one of the EMERGENCY Christmas shops in 23 Italian cities: Aosta, Bari, Bologna, Brescia, Cagliari, Catania, Catanzaro, Ferrara, Florence, Genoa, Livorno, Macerata, Mestre, Milan, Naples, Padua, Pisa, Reggio Calabria, Reggio Emilia, Rome, Teramo, Turin and Venice.
130 gift proposals. This year there are 130 gift proposals from EMERGENCY which, for this Christmas, also offers many gadgets with its logo: from the classic red ceramic mug to the 2025 calendar, and then some truly original novelties such as the Artivists t-shirt designed by Laika, the EMERGENCY umbrella and the Travel Tumbler thermal mug by 24Bottles.
Hand-embroidered tribal fabrics. To offer help to those who live in difficult contexts in Italy and in the world where EMERGENCY is involved, in the NGO’s shops it will be possible to purchase cushion covers, bags or traditional Suzani, large tribal fabrics totally hand-embroidered in Afghanistan or decorations for the Christmas tree made in Uganda by the Musizi Joy cooperative, created by those who live in the slums of Kampala and, again, the No War Factory key ring made with metals from war remnants scattered in Laos, a southern country East Asia, the most bombed area of the world in history.
The soaps of Burkina Faso. But there are also many products coming from or from solidarity organizations that collaborate with the NGO: such as the fair trade soaps produced by the women of Burkina Faso or the fashion accessories and garments by Ionè which do not come from industrial supply chains but are all unique pieces produced by artisan workshops in India that reuse Indian saris, often used only once.
The “Biscotti Gang” of Verbania inmates. Even at the table it is possible to savor a Christmas of solidarity: thanks to the products of Biscuit Band of Verbania, where prisoners can learn how to reproduce the great classics of Italian pastry making, while with the social cooperative Frolla, a biscuit factory for the employment of people with disabilities, it is possible to taste sweet and savory biscuits and give the opportunity for a future to people with difficulties and also the sweet and savory baskets of Libero Mondo, with a selection of delicacies.
Panettone “done right”. And this year too, EMERGENCY’s “Made for Good” Panettone will also be on sale in the EMERGENCY shops, with exclusive packaging for the 30 years of EMERGENCY, in collaboration with the Tre Marie. He will be the protagonist of the weekend of 6-7-8 December when it will be on sale in squares throughout Italy with the EMERGENCY shopper.
Virtual gift ideas. Finally, EMERGENCY proposes virtual gift ideas that will support specific activities of the association in Italy and around the world: with an online contribution you can give away life jackets for the ship Life Support of EMERGENCY, a pediatric visit in Sudan, support for the training of a woman in Afghanistan, a free medical visit to a patient in the Politruck, a mobile clinic in Italy.
To find out where to find the Christmas shops. Just click WHO . But it will also be possible to purchase gifts online, choosing from the many proposals offered by EMERGENCY SHOP. Solidarity gift ideas for Christmas can also be found on the dedicated page: EMERGENCY GIFT
