Tuomas Sammelvuo has resigned as head coach of the Canadian men’s volleyball team.
Volleyball Canada announced the Finn’s departure Friday in a press release, specifying that his wife had recently given birth to a baby and that this had influenced the pilot’s decision.
Sammelvuo was named in 2022. He helped the team place 2nd in its group during a qualifying tournament in 2023 and secure its ticket to the Paris Olympics last summer.
