Richard Meier was actually supposed to be available for SV Sandhausen again at the start of preparation for the second half of the season after an inner ligament injury in his right knee, but the striker is now out for a longer period of time.

SVS wants to step up the offensive

The initial plan was to treat the injury conservatively, but after getting a second opinion, the 20-year-old decided to have surgery. However, he will not be able to return to the pitch at the beginning of January, as coach Sreto Ristic made clear at the matchday press conference. The longer downtime also increases the pressure to have to add personnel on the offensive.

“I think we will still need a player who is able to play with speed and physical robustness, especially on the right wing,” said Ristic. There is also a need in the storm, as Dominic Baumann is the sole entertainer on the nine. On the other hand, players like Diamant Lokaj and Lion Schuster, who were supposed to leave in the summer, could be given up.
