MANILA, Philippines — It will be like David versus Goliath in the 2024 Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association (MPVA) finals as underdog team Biñan will take on top-seeded Quezon in a best-of-three championship series.
Biñan Tatak Gel 1-Pacman Partylist achieved the unthinkable and eliminated the Bacoor team, which had a two-game lead, with sets of 25-21, 26-24, 25-21, in just 86 minutes in their semi-final tiebreaker match Wednesday night at the Alonte Sports Arena in Laguna.
Riding the wave of their Game 1 sweep, the third-seeded Volley Angels won the games that mattered most against the Strikers, who had beaten them in the knockout stage.

Games 2 and 3 will be hosted by the Quezon Tangerines, led by stars Rhea Densing and Mycah Go, at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena and the South Quezon Convention Center in Gumaca, respectively.
Bacoor, the inaugural MPVA champion without the home-away format, will play for the bronze medal against fourth-seeded Rizal.
Just like in Game 1, Cyrille Joie Alemeniana was the only double-digit scorer with 15 points for Bacoor.
