A few weeks ago, the presence, outside the Palace of Justice in Asti, of a crew filming and interviewing some lawyers from the Committee for Equal Opportunities of the Asti Bar Association aroused curiosity.
And we find out what they were for. They merged into a short film that participated in the national competition “NO aLORE – Oltre il tunnel” promoted by the Italian Lawyer Foundation in collaboration with Il Dubbio and the Equal Opportunities Commission of the National Bar Council.
Well, the short film entitled #sola_mente_libera made by Filluccia Productions took first place ex aequo with three other CPOs. The work presented by the people of Asti also received the support of the other CPOs in Piedmont, excluding Turin.
The motivation for the award is very flattering.
“The video features a woman who presents herself on the outside as a professional, demonstrating that violence against women makes no distinctions but is a widespread phenomenon. The narrative that alternates reality and images reviewed in the protagonist’s mind admirably highlights the contrast between what may appear on the outside compared to what instead happens within the home. Sitting alone, the woman becomes aware thanks also to the kindness of a man who sits next to her on the red bench, a symbol of welcome and hope for the future.
The photography, deliberately veiled, seems to want to express a sense of discomfort and disorientation that persists throughout the short film. The transitions from color scenes to black and white scenes highlight the contrast between external appearance and familiar reality. The violence just mentioned in the few sentences of the husband that fade away is however perceived strongly.
The message of exit from the tunnel, as well as physically and visually in the protagonist’s walk, is expressed by the final scenes full of light and vivid colours”.
Protagonists and extras all “fished” among the members of the Committee: Cristina Preti and Fabio Nicotra with the main role and then Barbara Odarda (president), Davide Arri, Roberta Odarda and Maurizio Lamatina in the various roles. Also present is a child, the protagonist’s son, played by Rafael Quaranta. Directed by Jacopo Tiraboschi.
The short film was broadcast this morning in court on the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition hosted in the atrium of the Palace of Justice made up of works created by students of the Alfieri art high school in Asti. But it is possible for everyone to see it on the You Tube channel of the National Forensic Council
