Song Contest to strengthen children’s rights – State of Styria News Portal

Graz (November 21, 2024).- “Give YOUR voice to children’s rights!” – under this motto the Children’s Rights Song Contest of the Styrian Children’s and Youth Advocate’s Office was on the program again this year. Eight groups made it to the grand final of the sixth edition and put on a big show on Wednesday (November 20th, 2024), Children’s Rights Day, in the Straßegler Halle in Gratwein-Straßengel.

Child and youth lawyer Denise Schiffrer-Barac: “The Children’s Rights Song Contest gives children and young people the opportunity to actively and creatively engage with children’s rights and to offer their personal and real-life ideas a stage and an audience. This event is one of the highlights of Children’s Rights Week, which aims to draw attention to children’s rights in a variety of ways.”

After online voting with more than 34,000 votes, a jury of experts was on site Max Bieder (bandleader of “Alle Statt” and music producer) was spoiled for choice. After the distribution of points in the categories text, vocal performance and choreography/performance, the moderator picked up Gernot Pachernigg At the end, the group “Da Chor” from MMS Kirchberg an der Raab took to the stage as the overall winner with the “Children’s Rights Song”.
