TUNIS – UNIVERSNEWS (CULT) – The International Human Rights Film Festival, Human Screen Festival – Karama Tunisia-, will take place in its ninth edition from November 27 to 30, 2024, around the theme “Femicide, Peace and Security”.
Organized by the Tunisian cultural association for integration and training (ACTIF) with the support in particular of the National Center for Cinema and Image (CNCI), this cinematographic event will take place in Tunis, Gabès, Zaghouan (Bir Mecherga and Hammam Zriba), Ben Arous (Mornag) and Bizerte.
The selection for the 2024 edition brings together 52 films from 24 countries, including 8 feature-length fiction films, 14 short fiction films, 10 feature-length documentaries, 11 short documentaries and 9 animated films.
The jury for the documentary film competition brings together Tunisian producer Habib Ben Hedi, university professor Souad Zribi and director-producer-screenwriter Akram Moncer.
The jury for the fiction film competition is made up of director, screenwriter and producer Mirvet Kammoun, production and director assistance expert Hakim Abdelfattah and composer and music producer Rabii Zammouri.
The festival invites you to discover perspectives from countries whose cultures often remain unknown. It also offers debates on crucial questions relating to individual and collective freedoms, as well as national and personal emancipation in the face of multiple forms of modern colonial hegemony.
Created in 2012 by the ACTIF association, Human Screen Festival Tunisia aims to promote the culture of human rights in Tunisia through local and international cinema, while ensuring openness to the movements and changes taking place on a global scale. .
With a selection of 37 films from 16 countries, the eighth edition in 2023 was centered around the theme “Women, Peace and Security”.
