Glamox Reports Strong Q3 Revenue Growth and Strategic Acquisition of MARL International

On Thursday, the lighting manufacturer presented figures showing strong revenue growth and strong profit.

“Total operating income increased by 7.4 percent to NOK 1,117 million, compared to NOK 1,040 million in the third quarter last year. Adjusted earnings before interest, tax and depreciation (adjusted EBITA) increased by 67.7 percent to NOK 215 million (128 in the third quarter of last year), corresponding to an adjusted EBITA margin of 19.3 percent (12.3 percent)” ‘ wrote the company in a press release.

The figures relate to the company GLX Holding AS, which is the main company of Glamox.

The group reports that orders entered NOK 952 million, which is 3.6 percent lower than in the same period last year.

Growing in the maritime industry

– While we continue to see growth for our energy-efficient LED luminaires and lighting control systems for commercial buildings, sales within the marine and offshore energy industries are leading the way with the strongest growth, says Astrid Simonsen Joos, CEO of Glamox in her press release.

A British company bought

In the third quarter, Glamox bought the British lighting company MARL International.

“This acquisition will strengthen the position of the Glamox group as a supplier of lighting solutions for the defense and marine industry”, wrote Glamox.

– MARL International designs and manufactures LED technology and electronic systems that strengthen our market position within lighting systems for the defense industry and naval vessels. This is a sector where our Marine, Offshore & Wind division has big growth ambitions, says Astrid Simonsen Joos.

In the first nine months of the year, Glamox has increased operating income by 5.5 percent to NOK 3,320 million compared to last year, and order intake is up half a percent to NOK 3,158 million (3,142) . Adjusted EBITA result for the first nine months of the year is NOK 496 million, up 31.4 percent from the same period last year (NOK 377), writes Glamox.
