/ world today news/ Prime Minister Boyko Borisov cut the ribbon and opened the 68th edition of the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv. In his speech, he emphasized the increased investor interest in our country.
In his greeting to exhibitors and visitors, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said that it is a fact that in the worst crisis in the world, more than 1,200 companies participate in this fair, and this year the exhibitors are 127 more than last year, Borisov said at the opening. There are two reasons for the stronger interest – the first is that the Plovdiv Fair is well managed and arouses interest among exhibitors, and the second is that Bulgaria is respected in the world for its strict fiscal discipline, the prime minister said.
In his speech, he also said that three countries in the world that comply with the criteria of this discipline – Bulgaria, Denmark and Belgium. “Bulgaria, although small, has the lowest taxes in the EU and is one of the few countries that is not tempted to raise them. Investors are increasingly coming to Bulgaria because they see that the infrastructure is improving, because taxes are low and because of the financial policy. At the moment, many countries that used to be an example have gone bankrupt,” said Borissov and wished for more contracts concluded during the exhibition, especially in the field of energy efficiency.
120 pigeons flew into the sky after the welcome of the Prime Minister as a symbol for the future of the Plovdiv Fair and on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the first exhibition.
