Doors open this morning at the Rieti Training Institution with the “I’ll take care of you” initiative, which includes two days to support the well-being and care of the person, in particular of fragile and vulnerable subjects.
The headquarters in via dell’Elettronica will be open again next Wednesday, 27 November, from 10am to 1.30pm. Entrance is free and the students will take care of those present with facial treatments, make up and hair styling.
The initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Province of Rieti and the voluntary organization Il Guazzabuglio.
A haircut, a styling or an appointment with the beautician are not so obvious for those who are struggling with difficulties of various kinds. Beauty also heals and feeling more beautiful can help plan a better future.
“We managed to provide a morning of smiles and serenity – commented the president of the Training Institution Cinzia Francia, present at the initiative – I thank Nanina and Il Guazzabuglio for all the precious projects that they carry out in the social field on a daily basis. Thanks to the students who showed great enthusiasm and managed to put everyone at ease. For many these are pleasures that are often taken for granted, but even a simple blow-dry or a manicure can bring a smile. Thanks to the teachers, always professional and thanks to the director of the Davide Lorenzini Center who for years has opened the doors of the school to the needs of those who are more fragile”.
Today was an event with a high educational value, which combines training and social hardship. At the forefront are students who, thanks to initiatives like these, can come into contact with realities too often imagined only as negative.
“We are pleased – commented director Lorenzini – to return to offering haircuts, color, styling, manicures, pedicures, facial cleansing and massages. Hairdressing and hairdressing course students are available. The Rieti Center and the Passo Corese Center are engaged in a series of meetings with associations operating in the area to support vulnerable individuals. The objective is to stimulate the social sensitivity of young people towards every vulnerability, engaging them personally.”
“We thank the Training Institution for being at our side – explains the representative of the social area Federica Paolucci, better known as Nanina from Guazzabuglio – As part of the Sant’Erasmo Il courtyard project, which deals with young disabled adults, we wanted focus attention on this type of fragility. The collaboration between the public and a third sector organization is one of the many signals we have launched to say that the network is strong. We often think about supporting disadvantaged people through food or economic aid, but there is a need to also think about what, paradoxically, may seem superfluous, such as a haircut, which is very important. Places are limited, but for more information and reservations you can contact us on the telephone number 379-2950136″.
What specific services does the “I’ll take care of you” initiative provide to support the mental health and well-being of vulnerable individuals in the community?
Thank you for agreeing to this interview. Let’s start by discussing the importance of the “I’ll take care of you” initiative and how it aims to support the well-being and care of vulnerable individuals in the community.
Guest 1: Of course, it’s an honor to be here. The “I’ll take care of you” initiative is a great step forward in bringing together different sectors of society to address the needs of vulnerable individuals. It’s not just about providing basic necessities like food and shelter, but also about recognizing that small pleasures like a haircut or a facial treatment can go a long way in improving people’s mental health and self-esteem. By offering these services, we hope to make a meaningful difference in their lives and help them feel more valued and cared for.
Guest 2: Absolutely, I couldn’t agree more. The beauty treatments are just the surface of it, though. Underlying this initiative is the fundamental belief that everyone deserves access to basic human rights, regardless of their circumstances. By collaborating with the Province of Rieti and other organizations, we hope to create a supportive environment where people can feel safe and supported, both physically and emotionally.
Now, let’s shift to the specific aspects of the initiative. What are some of the challenges that you faced during the planning process, and how did you overcome them?
Guest 1: One of the main challenges was ensuring that we had enough volunteers and resources to accommodate everyone who wanted to participate. We also had to make sure that the facility was accessible and welcoming for individuals with disabilities or other special needs. To address these concerns, we reached out to various organizations and individuals within the community to gather support and resources. Additionally, we worked closely with the Training Institution to make sure that the facility was properly equipped to handle the demand.
Guest 2: Another challenge was creating a safe and comfortable environment for both the service providers and the people receiving the services. We wanted to make sure that everyone felt respected and valued throughout the process. To achieve this, we provided training sessions for the students on how to interact with vulnerable individuals and covered topics like consent and communication. We also made sure that there was adequate supervision to ensure everyone
