/ world today news/ “The fact that there is an investor who has some interest in the Belene NPP means nothing,” commented Martin Dimitrov, MP from the Blue Coalition, in the studio of the morning block of Nova TV.
According to him, the goal is not to build “Belene”, but to drag things out until the upcoming parliamentary elections, and if then someone wants to resume the project, let them do it. Dimitrov is adamant that this is some new strategy with the American investor. He is of the opinion that the goal of the state with the investor is simply to make a lot of noise.
Martin Dimitrov also told Nova TV that the American investor did not explain at all how they suddenly showed interest in the “Belene” project. According to him, political interests may also be behind this new scenario.
Regarding whether he personally supports the restart of the Belene NPP, Martin Dimitrov stated that he has learned to be suspicious and measured in his stories. However, he explained that he was surprised that there was an investor who was ready to give 10 billion. dollars for the project. According to him, there is not even anywhere to sell the electricity from “Belene”.
The deputy also explained again that if Bulgaria starts building the nuclear power plant, it will automatically go bankrupt and the scenario with Greece will follow. He also recalled that the area where the Belene NPP is planned to be built is highly seismic.
Martin Dimitrov asked from Nova TV whether Rumen Ovcharov is not involved in this whole new plot, whether he does not know the investors and whether he brought them to Bulgaria
