However, he does not see the Portuguese striker returning as a player. “I think Cristiano Ronaldo would like to return to the club in a role that he respects. He left the club on bad terms, so maybe the club’s hierarchy don’t want that to happen. However, the players and fans understood what he was trying to say. People cannot say that what he said was wrong,” he said.
“Cristiano is linked with Ruben Amorim, but I don’t believe he would sign him just because he is a friend. He wouldn’t sign him just to please him, he would only do that if he thinks Cristiano can help. If there is an opportunity to come back, I’m sure Cristiano would love to come back and help the club because he likes the challenge. If he has the chance, he will come,” concluded Louis Saha.
