The families of Telangana workers who died in the Gulf will be compensated soon: Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has said that compensation will be paid to the families of Telangana workers who died in the Gulf countries in the last year. Revanth Reddy was distributing financial aid to the families of 17 workers who died in the Gulf.

160 people from Telangana have died in the Gulf in the past year due to various diseases and accidents.

Revanth Reddy had said that procedures have been initiated to provide compensation to the families of the workers who died in this way. NRI Cell Convenor, Manda Bheem Reddy, said that no other state in the country supports the families of workers who die in the Gulf.

“No other state in the country provides such financial assistance to workers who die in the Gulf. Those families who have lost their income need help. The Prime Minister had already said that the government would extend help to the victims of the Gulf,’ said Bheem Reddy.

Since December 7, when the Congress government came to power, 160 people from different parts of the state had died in the Gulf countries of UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Bahrain. Most of them are from Nizamabad and Jagital district.

The Telangana government had issued an order on September 9 to provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of these workers.

It was also decided at government level to create an advisory committee for the welfare of Gulf workers. Apart from this, the state government had also decided to give priority admission to government residential schools to the children of the deceased.
