The Municipality of Carate has contested a series of inefficiencies relating to waste collection in Gelsia Ambiente, the current manager of urban hygiene services in the municipal territory of Carate. This was after numerous reports also received from citizens and verified by municipal technicians. At that point the disciplinary action began. The amount collected by the municipal coffers is one thousand euros.
Councilor Luca Cesana explained: “We are satisfied with working with Gelsia Ambiente, even if it sometimes lacks some services and when a phone call is not enough to improve the service, the office in charge, as in this case, is forced to sanction “. When citizens alert the Municipality to a disservice, inspections by municipal employees immediately begin to verify the veracity of any disservice. Among the most numerous complaints there are multiple services regarding collections and sweeping in some streets of the area. There is no shortage of incorrect information provided to citizens regarding reservations for home collection of bulky waste. In fact, users complain of various inconveniences in booking collection at their homes. The assessment of the collection of the penalty imposed on Gelsia Ambiente, although the administration recognizes the good work carried out in Carate, took place in recent days in light of what is provided for in the service contract. As part of the environmental hygiene contract with the company Gelsia Ambiente, the figure of the ecological policeman is operational, appointed by union provision with functions of auxiliary for environmental checks: precisely to check the correct disposal of waste in Carate and its surroundings.
