The closure of Stadhouderskade continues to cause dangerous traffic conditions and anti-social behaviour. Traffic controllers there have to deal with aggression and violence.
A traffic police officer writes that the alarm has now been raised. “We received reports of threats, verbal abuse and running overs by the traffic controllers who were present.”

The city has been redesigning the Stadhouderskade for months. Drivers can only go through in one direction. Drivers coming from the Rijksmuseum will have to take a detour.
This also applies to cyclists, but AT5 previously showed that they ignored the many prohibited signs and therefore cycled against the direction or on the pavement. A spokesman for the town then announced that enforcement officers would be visiting more often to hand out fines.
The traffic police will now be there more often too, the officer reports. “We will conduct additional investigations and supervision at this location.”
The closure of the Stadhouderskade is still in place until December 19. The next phase of the work will then begin.
AT5 made the following report in September about the closure of the Stadhouderskade:
