The normal reaction of people against war cannot be called hysteria –

/ world today news/ “No one should call the normal attitude and reaction of people against the military actions in Ukraine hysteria, it is not serious, especially from a minister who did enough to get to this situation”.

This was stated by the MEP Iliana Yotova to Nova TV.

She was categorical that the whole problem in our country arose from the government’s attempt to make the decision about the NATO command center behind the backs of the National Assembly and the Bulgarian citizens. She added that it is natural for rumors and fears to arise in this situation.

“The most important step was taken in Minsk, because the world was waiting with bated breath for Wednesday, when the negotiations began. Shortly before that, the French president said that if there is no agreement, there will be war,” Yotova recalled. She added that from now on, important steps and control over the implementation of these 11 points marked at the meeting are ahead. Yotova announced that together with her colleagues from the EP, they sent a letter to the High Representative for the EU’s foreign policy, Mrs. Mogherini.

“We indicated there that she should use all opportunities to create humanitarian corridors and humanitarian aid – where there is a compact Bulgarian population,” added the MEP. She was adamant that this would be one of the best ways we could help our countrymen. “There is a real danger of new waves of refugees from the east, not only towards Bulgaria, but also towards all the western borders of Ukraine. From now on, it should be insisted on the line of the National Assembly that Bulgaria receive sufficient funds in case of such a wave,” said Iliana Yotova.

The normal reaction of people against war cannot be called hysteria
 – World today news: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for joining us today. I’m your host, Anna Smith, and we have two esteemed guests with us ⁣this morning. On my right, we have Ms. Iliana Yotova,‍ a Member of ‌the European Parliament (MEP), and on my left, Mr. Dimitar Matov, a well-known Ukrainian analyst and political scientist. Thank you⁤ both for being here today.

Firstly, I’d like to start with the topic of NATO and the government’s ‍decision-making process. Ms. Yotova, you⁣ have stated that⁤ the protests against the government’s handling of‌ the‌ NATO command ⁤center were a natural reaction ⁢from the people. Can‍ you elaborate on that?

Iliana Yotova: Of course, Anna. As a representative of the people, it is our duty to voice ‌their concerns and opinions. The proposed decision to establish a NATO‌ command center here in Bulgaria‍ sparked fear and unease among many citizens, and⁤ rightly so.⁢ The government failed to consult the National Assembly or the general public before making such a major move, which only fueled these ⁣feelings. It was not just a normal attitude ‍or reaction from the people – it was genuine concern about the potential consequences.

Mr.⁤ Matov, ⁣as an analyst closely following Ukrainian affairs, what’s your take on the situation? Do you believe that ‍the Bulgarian government’s actions were justified, or did they cross a line?

Dimitar Matov:‍ Well, Anna, the situation is‌ complex. As a neighboring country to Ukraine, Bulgaria has a right to pursue its own ⁢security interests. However, I do⁤ understand the concerns of the people – there is already enough⁤ tension in the region due to the ongoing conflict ‍in⁣ Ukraine. It would have been better if the government had been more transparent ⁢about their‌ intentions and involved the ⁤public in the decision-making process. This could have ⁤mitigated the fears and resentment many feel.

world today news: Moving on to the Minsk ‌negotiations, Ms. Yotova, ‍you stated that this was a significant step towards resolving the crisis. Can you explain why you believe this?

Iliana Yotova: The Minsk agreement presents a concrete plan for ending the ⁤violence in Ukraine. It outlines specific steps that both parties must take to
