Monterrey, Nuevo León.- Continuing with the gloss on the Third Government Report of Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda, the Secretaries of Health, Alma Rosa Marroquín; and of Women, Graciela Buchanan, appeared in the State Congress to expand on the situation of the state Public Administration in the areas of health and a life free of violence against women.
The Secretary of Health said that the priority of the Government of the new Nuevo León was to transform the health system of our State by moving towards universal coverage, “today that objective is a reality,” she said.
“Through unstoppable work, collaboration between institutions and the commitment of our Government we have managed to take firm steps towards a stronger, more accessible and humane health system; Today we can say with great pride that we have generated a new, unique and innovative model of comprehensive health care for everyone,” he noted.
Marroquín Escamilla expressed that with the creation of the trust for high-cost diseases in December 2021, it marks the beginning of providing universal coverage for catastrophic diseases in Nuevo León.
He explained that the Take Care of Your Health Program, which guarantees access to health for people without rights, impacting in a positive and preventive way, has to date more than one million one hundred thousand registered people.

In her intervention, the Secretary of Women, Graciela Buchanan, pointed out that to contain and work on the eradication and prevention of violence against women, alliances were formed with strategic actors for immediate attention in coordination, both the State, Municipalities, civil society, and universities.
She commented that these strategic alliances have been strengthened with federal and municipal authorities, creating a municipal system to prevent, address and punish violence against women, adding to date 36 municipalities to have, in coordination with the federal National Commission on Violence against Women, their own systems and work directly with them.
“One of the main (actions) as you already know is to position unique numbers for attention to violence such as 911 and 070, since, as we know, women did not have unique numbers for attention and so that it would be immediate and coordinated attention with the C5 ”, he expressed.
“We have had 5,845 calls this year to 911, and 3,775 to 070, the data presented is to tell women that in Nuevo León if you mess with one, you mess with all of Nuevo León… in Nuevo León the Women are not alone, we listen to them, we believe them and we accompany them,” she added.
