To support his friend and fellow actor Dave Coullier (65), John Stamos (61) decided to pose with a bald head on Instagram. But instead of shaving his hair off, he wore a ‘bald cap’, which is a flat latex hat. And not everyone welcomed the latter.
“He just sees it as a moment of publicity”
“There’s nothing more fun than holding on to a bald head and showing off some Photoshop skills to show my support and solidarity with my friend Dave Coulier,” writes John. “You’re dealing with this is so strong and positive – really inspiring. I’m sure you’ll get through this, and I’m proud to be by your side every step of the way. I love you.’ Another picture shows John shaking his friend with a pair of clippers. In another picture, John and Melissa Coulier, Dave’s wife, kiss him on the head.
While there are certainly sweet comments on his Instagram post, there is also a lot of criticism. “So he’s not really endorsing it, but he’s just seeing it as a publicity stunt,” someone replied. “It’s one of the dumbest things I’ve seen, it’s like walking through the streets with a shopping cart in loyalty to him,” said another. “You couldn’t even shave your hair for your good friend?”, another wonder.
Last week Dave revealed that he has cancer. The actor is suffering from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a very aggressive type of cancer, he told the American program Today. In the past five weeks he has already undergone three operations and chemotherapy. John and Dave appeared together in comedy from the late 80’s to the mid 90’s Full House.
