Gerardo Martino, who was the national coach of Argentina, started working for the franchise in Florida in the summer of 2023, just before the arrival of Messi. That led to a reunion with “La Pulga”, the two had already worked together at FC Barcelona and in the national team.
This season, Martino led Miami into the playoffs as the league’s leading scorer with 74 points, a league record.
