A young striker is causing a sensation in the Regionalliga West this season. He also shone in the Bundesliga team during the international break.
Noah Pesh currently finishing his first season in the professional division. Dental problems seem like a foreign concept to the 19-year-old. The young striker from the U23 team Borussia Mönchengladbach is the most successful attacker in the Regionalliga West so far. In 14 games he scored eleven goals and also added six assists.
Pesch has yet to break into Gladbach’s professional team. But the talent, who moved from Bayer Leverkusen’s U19 team to the Lower Rhine in the summer, has long been central to the Bundesliga side with his performances.
During the international break, Pesch was allowed to play in the friendly match against Preußen Münster. The Croatia U19 international played as a left back and therefore in an unusual position. He was still able to show his goal threat. Pesch made the interim score 1-1 and set the course for a 3-1 victory.
In doing so, he submitted another letter of appeal on his way to the professionals in front of professional coach Gerardo Seoane. Pesch had already scored in a friendly against SC Verl (5-0) in October. Next to Shio Fukuda, he is probably the most exciting player from the U23.
“It was good to see all the boys and to be able to give them playing time with us. Some of them were in a position they were not used to. With Noah we saw again that he goes a long way and to there is a lot of quality in the end,” suggested Seoane after the test against Münster in Bild newspaper.
It remains doubtful whether Pesch will soon be rewarded for his outstanding performances with an appearance or at least a place in the professional team. “It is important that they continue to develop and that they are there when they are needed. Of course, it is not always easy because they are in competition with professionals who sometimes have a lead of six or seven years, ” said Sean. “The boys also need patience, but we are happy to have players like that at the club, that’s the Borussia way.”
But if Pesch is able to maintain his form in the regional league team and perhaps also defend his place at the top of the top scorer list, it should only be a matter of time before he starts playing professional football. This was the case with almost all the major winners in the Western relay: most recently with Anton Heinz, before that with Serhat-Semih Güler, Simon Engelmann, Marius Bülter and Mike Wunderlich.
