The recently appointed Secretary General of the Hellenic Football Federation (HFF), Domna Tsioni, visited the FIFA House in Paris to participate in the FIFA launch day. When a new General Secretary or President is elected or appointed, they will be invited by FIFA to learn about the various activities of FIFA and the FIFA services available to member associations. Tsioni, who was appointed Secretary General of the Hellenic Federation in July 2024, and the HFF, the induction day will help accelerate FIFA’s programs and support to further develop football in Greece. “FIFA as the world governing body of football must ensure that we provide the best facilities and services to our members and that we know all the options and ways of implementing various FIFA programs,” said Elkhan Mammadov, FIFA’s Director of European Member Associations.
The HFF has benefited from FIFA programs in the past, most recently with the support of the FIFA program to promote women’s football to develop women’s football strategy. The strategy was launched in Athens and included the implementation of the first U-15 Girls’ National Championship, which the FIFA forward program it should be supported.
Tsioni’s visit to the FIFA offices in Paris is an opportunity for the HFF to explore further opportunities and find new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
“This FIFA launch day was an opportunity to broaden my horizons. The seminars were simple, professional and rigorous. It was perfect and I’m very happy to be here,” said Tsioni. “I have learned about all the FIFA programs and we – myself and the Hellenic Football Association – are looking forward to submitting applications for the programs that we are not currently using right now. I’m excited.”
