What is the link between the Japanese animated series and the French version of Cat’s Eyesbroadcast on TF1 in 2024?

These are two adaptations of the same manga: that of Tsukasa Hôjô, who also created the character of Nicky Larson, for the saga City Hunter. The first animated series, which enjoyed its period of glory between 1983 and 1985, was created by the mangaka himself, who here adapts the adventures of three sisters: Cyllia, Tam and Alexia in French, or Hitomi, Rui and Ai in original version.

Signé Cat’s Eyes thus recounts their nocturnal adventures, during which they steal paintings that belonged to their father, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

The TF1 series, broadcast since November 11, 2024 on the French channel, repeats the same story, taking place just before the events of the manga. This time it is a live action adaptation, which aims to be more realistic and which takes liberties with the original production.

So no more high heels and latex jumpsuits, to allow the three heroines to run on the rooftops of Paris in a more comfortable way. Cat’s Eyes also suggests giving a origin story to these three sisters, whose past has always been mysterious. To find out what happens next in their adventures, tune in every Monday evening on TF1 until December 9, 2024.
