More than three years after his arrest, actor Héctor Parra could face a modification in his sentence, which would not result in anything in his favor, because the years would increase who will remain in prison.
Héctor Parra’s sentence could increase based on what is stipulated in a new review. Last March he was sentenced to 13 years and 10 months in prison for the crime of corruption of minors against his youngest daughter, Alexa Hoffman.
Will Héctor Parra’s sentence increase?
Samara Ávila, Héctor Parra’s lawyer, spoke to the media about the modification that could be made to the actor’s sentence. He said that after filing an appeal against the ruling, the legal system worked against them, because the authorities put in charge of a second review to the Ninth Chamber of Magistrates, which had already resolved the case.
Attorney Ávila foresees impartiality in the case and prepares for this.
“We want Mr. Parra’s acquittal, but if he is going to see the same room again, we have no better news for us.”
Samara Ávila
There is a possibility that the magistrates will not go against their own decision, however, the only thing left is is to wait.
“With all due respect, if they already increased the penalty once, it will not go against their criteria. We can expect anything like the same room; So let’s go ahead and wait, nothing has been said yet.”

To increase the sentence, for the second time, the maximum penalty that Héctor Parra could face is up to 60 years in prison.
Shortly after being convicted, Parra reacted by insisting on his innocence.
“Today, I reiterate and I hold it with my heart in my hand: I am innocent of everything that they try to make me look guilty… A lie can be painted and repeated a thousand times, but sooner or later it fades away and that is going to happen”
Héctor Parra said from the Oriente Prison

How might Héctor Parra’s case influence future legal proceedings for similar cases in the region?
Introduction:
Welcome to our interview with two guests, attorney Samara Ávila and journalist Pedro Morales. Today, we’re discussing the possible increase in Héctor Parra’s sentence and its impact on his case. Let’s begin with Samara Ávila, Parra’s lawyer, who recently spoke about the modification of the sentence. Samara, can you provide us with more information about this? How do you respond to the possibility of an increased sentence for Héctor Parra?
Section 1: Modification in Héctor Parra’s Sentence
Pedro Morales: What are the chances of Héctor Parra’s sentence being increased based on the new review process? As per the article, there is a possibility of increasing the sentence to a maximum of 60 years in prison. How do you assess the likelihood of this happening?
Samara Ávila: The sentence modification process is currently underway. We’re waiting for the new decision from the magistrates, and we cannot predict its outcome. However, we are preparing ourselves for the possible increase in sentence. As per the legal system, if the same chamber reviews a case twice, they usually maintain their initial decision. So, we need to wait and see what happens.
Section 2: Impact of Second Review on Parra’s Case
Pedro Morales: What is your take on the second review being assigned to the same chamber that made the initial ruling? Do you think this could create bias or impartiality in the case?
Samara Ávila: Unfortunately, there is always a possibility of bias or impartiality in any legal proceeding. However, we trust that the magistrates will base their decision on the evidence presented in the case and not on their previous ruling. We hope for a fair and unbiased decision.
Section 3: Impact on Parra’s Future
Pedro Morales: If the sentence does increase, what impact will it have on Héctor Parra and his family? Will it affect his family’s public image or career?
Samara Ávila: The increase in sentence would undoubtedly affect Héctor Parra and his family, both emotionally and professionally. However, we cannot predict the extent of its impact. The public’s perception may change
