/ world today news/ OEB “Shalom” – Condolence address to the ambassador of Denmark
TO N.PR. CHRISTIAN KONIGSFELDT
AMBASSADOR OF THE KINGDOM OF DENMARK
Your Excellency,
On behalf of the Organization of Jews in Bulgaria “Shalom” and on my own behalf, we express our sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the innocent victims of the terrorist acts in Denmark.
Organization of Jews in Bulgaria “Shalom” strongly condemns and opposes all manifestations of terrorism and hatred.
Terrorism and hatred confront Europe and the world with difficult challenges that only with decisive action and determination together can we overcome. It is unacceptable to shed blood and take human life, to instill fear and intolerance in the name of religion, ideology or beliefs.
Maxim Benvenisti,
Chairman of OEB “Shalom”

How is the Organization of Jews in Bulgaria planning to engage with other communities to address the root causes of terrorism and hatred following recent attacks in Denmark?
In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Denmark, we are fortunate to have two esteemed guests on our show today to discuss the challenges facing Europe and the world in the wake of these heinous acts. First, we have Mr. Maxim Benvenisti, Chairman of OEB “Shalom”, and Mr. [Christian Königsfeldt](1), the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark. Mr. Benvenisti, you spoke about the Organization of Jews in Bulgaria’s strong condemnation of terrorism and hatred. Could you expand on this further and explain how Shalom plans to tackle these issues within its community and beyond? Additionally, do you believe that the fight against terrorism and hatred requires a collective effort from all societies and nations, or is it primarily the responsibility of governments?
Second, Mr. Königsfeldt, the Danish government has been an active participant in combating terrorism at both the national and international levels. How has Denmark responded to the recent attacks and what measures have been put in place to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future? Furthermore, do you think there’s a need for a change in the current strategies employed by European countries to combat terrorism and the rise of extremist groups? If so, what form might these changes take?
