What role do you think technology and social media play in either alleviating or exacerbating the challenges students face in their peer relationships?
World-Today News: Thank you for agreeing to this interview. Let’s get started with the first question. What are your thoughts on the impact of peer relationships on students’ mental health and well-being, particularly in the case of Ammu Sajeev, a nursing student from Pathanamthitta who reportedly faced issues with her fellow students?
Interviewee 1: Peer relationships are crucial for students’ mental health and well-being. It’s unfortunate that Ammu faced issues with her fellow students, which took a toll on her mental state. The importance of resolving conflicts in a timely manner cannot be understated, as it can prevent situations that escalate to extreme levels.
Interviewee 2: Absolutely. It’s essential for educational institutions to create an environment where students feel safe to express their problems and concerns. In the case of Ammu, it seems like the issue was resolved internally by the college administration, but it’s unclear whether she received the necessary support or counseling to address any underlying issues. This underscores the importance of proper counseling and support services for students who face such challenges.
World-Today News: Moving on to the investigation, the police have sought parental permission to question three fellow students who were reportedly involved in the dispute. Do you think parents play a significant role in supporting their children through such situations, and should they be involved in legal matters?
Interviewee 1: Parents play a vital role in supporting their children during difficult times. They can provide emotional support, guidance, and a listening ear. However, involving them in legal matters can often complicate issues further. It’s essential for investigators to gather all necessary information without unduly involving the parents unless absolutely necessary.
Interviewee 2: Yes, parents have an essential role to play in supporting their children. However, it’s essential to strike a balance between supporting and trying to influence the legal process. Parents should provide their children with the support they need while ensuring that justice is served impartially.
World-Today News: The phone forensic examination is also part of the investigation. Do you think mobile devices hold pertinent information for understanding the complexities of a student’s life, such as the case of Ammu’s suicide
