Steven Spielberg’s previously unnamed project is growing and growing. It has now been confirmed that Josh O’Connor will star alongside Emily Blunt and Colin Firth in the star director’s new film.

The cast for Steven Spielberg’s (77) new film is impressive. So far, Emily Blunt (41, “The Fall Guy”), Colin Firth (64, “Kingsman”), Colman Domingo (54, “The Color Purple”) and Eve Hewson (33, “A New One”) have already been confirmed for the as yet unnamed project Summer”) was announced as a cast member. Now has the industry magazine “Variety” Another cast member, Josh O’Connor (34), has been confirmed.

The British actor is particularly known for his role in the series “The Crown”, in which he played Prince Charles for two seasons. He also played one of the male leads in the tennis drama “Challengers” alongside Zendaya (28). He is currently filming the film “The Mastermind” alongside Alana Haim (32) and will also be seen in Rian Johnson’s (50) star-studded “Knives Out” three-part film “Wake Up Dead Man”. It is not yet known what role O’Connor will play at Spielberg.

Spielberg’s project is still secret

What exactly the new film by star director Steven Spielberg will be about is still completely unknown. Universal Pictures announced the work simply as a “new original event film.” Exact details about the plot are still missing, but the film is said to contain “science fiction elements”. The script comes from David Koepp (61), who already worked with Spielberg on “Jurassic Park”, “War of the Worlds” and “Indiana Jones”. The film is also produced by an old Spielberg acquaintance, his “West Side Story” colleague Kristie Macosko Krieger (54).
