The weather has changed so much lately that it’s hard to know what to wear.

Last week, the weather was warm enough to wear short sleeves, but the weather changed so drastically over the weekend that it was cold this morning even if I wore thick padding.

There are even words like ‘come and go’ and ‘mixed up’. Why is this like this? Reporter Jeong Hye-yoon reports.

The commute to work in downtown Seoul, which was hit by an early cold, changed drastically in just one day.

Winter padding, fur hats, gloves, and even earmuffs appeared on the streets in just one day.

It’s a big difference from last week, when azaleas burst into flower buds unseasonably and people even appeared in short-sleeved and sleeveless outfits.

Citizens also find it difficult to adapt to the rapidly changing weather.

The cause is that a strong cold temperature of around -20 degrees Celsius came from 5km north of the country overnight.

The temperature at Hyangnobong Peak in Goseong and Seolcheonbong Peak in Muju dropped to around -10 degrees Celsius.

Cold temperatures below freezing were recorded even inland, and temperatures in Seoul also fell below freezing for the first time.

The first cold wave warning of this fall was issued for the inland areas of Jeollabuk-do, and a cold wave warning was issued for the inland areas of Gangwon and Chungcheong.

Experts analyzed that the cold this year was bound to be felt more intensely because the temperature last week was high enough to feel like a warm spring heading toward summer rather than fall.

As a result, although the temperature did not fall much compared to normal this week, it seems that the cold was inevitably felt more severely.

The early cold weather below normal temperatures is expected to continue for another day.

Later in the day, temperatures will return to normal and the seasonal clock will return to normal.

However, this week the temperature is more than 10 degrees lower than last week, so it is highly likely that the feeling of cold will continue.

Experts urged people to thoroughly prepare for the cold weather, saying that in the future, rather than a large rise or fall in temperature, morning temperatures will gradually drop as the season approaches winter.
