With the budget of over 90 mln. 2,250 applicants will be financed
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food launched reception of applications for assistance to young farmers under the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas with a budget of over BGN 176 million (EUR 90 million). All application documents under the procedure will be prepared free of charge by the National Service for Advice in Agriculture (NSSZ). The purpose of the intervention is to support young farmers in creating sustainable and competitive farms. The support will increase their number and contribute to preserving existing jobs.
Young farmers will be able to apply for assistance in the amount of 78 thousand. BGN (40,000 euros). The bill shows that 2,250 applicants will receive funding.
In the draft conditions for application, published at the beginning of November this year. the budget was 20 million EUR, and the individual support – EUR 30,000.
Eligible candidates under the procedure will be young people with already existing holdings. They must have been registered as farmers under the Farmers’ Support Act no later than 24 months before the submission of the application for support, and must be between 18 and 40 years of age on the date of submission. Applicants can be both natural persons, sole proprietors, and owners of sole proprietorships.
With the implementation of their business plan, they must ensure putting into operation in the farm an investment in long-lasting tangible assets – machines – facilities, equipment, carrying out construction and installation works or purchasing agricultural land, which are related to their activity.
The admission will be open until January 27, 2025, and the submission of applications for the intervention will be entirely electronic through the Electronic Government System (EGS).
In order to facilitate the applicants, a Guide for submitting applications for assistance under the interventions of the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas for the period 2023-2027 has been prepared, which is available in the SEU.
