To support this change, Spotify is introducing new video features. Creators will have access to options like chapters, comments, pinch zoom functions and scrolling thumbnails. Searching for video content will also be made easier thanks to personalized recommendations in the application. These additions aim to make navigation and engagement more intuitive.
Spotify now allows creators to download clips to promote their episodes. These clips will appear in different streams of the application to help attract users’ attention. Additionally, podcasters will be able to choose thumbnails for their videos, an option similar to that offered on YouTube. These features aim to optimize the visibility and appeal of video podcasts.
A redesigned dashboard
Spotify also redesigned its creator dashboard. Podcasters will now be able to more easily view their performance analyzes and track the growth of their audience. These changes will come into effect January 2, 2025 in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.
