In the official video of the summit, Sheinbaum can be seen with a very serious face; Next to him is the prime minister, who only sticks to him.
It is not known whether the two leaders held a conversation before their meeting at the opening of the summit.
What Sheinbaum will do during the G20
According to his official schedule, Sheinbaum’s first work session will be titled “Fight against hunger and poverty“.
Later he will be with the leaders of MIKTA and in the afternoon he will participate in the second working session “Reform of global governance institutions.”
This year, the summit is dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty, so Sheinbaum is expected to address the model implemented by former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in his administration through social programs such as Pensiones del Bienestar and Sembrando Vida.
What is being discussed at the G20
During the welcome session, the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, pointed out that the world is worse, because there is a greater number of armed conflicts, as well as forced movements.
He pointed out that social, racial and gender inequality is deepening as a result of a pandemic that has claimed more than 15 million lives.
“Hunger and poverty are the ultimate symbol of our tragedy,” he said.
