The burger shop Carl’s Jr. has also been in Winterthur since July 2024.

Since then, the branch has generated great enthusiasm among its guests.

Because: The ingredients are fresh and the burgers are only prepared after you order.
In December 2023 – almost a year ago – Switzerland was able to enjoy the fine burgers from Carl’s Jr for the first time. Since then, the Californian-inspired burger shop has been an indispensable place. Starting in Schaffhausen, another branch was opened on July 10, 2024 – this time in Winterthur.
It is no coincidence that the decision fell on the city of Zurich. Winterthur is the sixth largest city in Switzerland and has a special charm. The charming old town with its many shops, cafés – and recently also Carl’s Jr. – certainly contributes to this.

Ensuring that the products are served freshly prepared at the new location requires extensive planning: after the contract was signed in mid-May, dismantling of the area began immediately.
Do you eat a burger regularly?
1Yes, every now and then.
2Rather rare.
The first burgers were tried by the on-site team and the craftsmen at the beginning of July. Since the opening, the people of Winterthur have also been happy about the fine offering.
Challenges overcome well
The project and construction phase went relatively smoothly. Nevertheless, there were some pitfalls: For example, the wrong color of the bricks was delivered.
At the same time, the kitchen was late, which is why the opening was delayed. The team knows that challenges are part of it – so they take the smaller hardships calmly. And in the end everything went well.
So good, in fact, that the people of Winterthur immediately discovered the chicken range for themselves. Because: When you order it is freshly breaded and then prepared.

It is standard practice at Carl’s Jr. that every product is only made ready for consumption with fresh ingredients after the order has been received. The beef burgers are made from 100 percent Swiss beef.
The bacon and the Black Angus beef are IP-Suisse certified. IP-Suisse is a Swiss agricultural organization, whereby the ladybird seal of quality stands for sustainable, environmentally friendly and animal-friendly agriculture.
These products are new to the range
Since opening in Winterthur, there have been two new products on the Carl’s Jr. menu: the fiery Chili Cheese Fries and the tasty Jalapeño Angus Burger. More products will follow during Advent – but nothing more will be revealed.
The fact that the burger shop is well received by the people of Winterthur is also evident from the feedback. This is recorded in the guestbook with great and creative contributions. The locals feel at home at Carl’s Jr. – just like the crew in Winterthur. That’s why it shouldn’t end here. 20 Carl’s Jr. locations are planned across Switzerland.
