“Les Insatiables” Olympics, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., November 28.
The Senior Space of the City of Béziers, located on Avenue Foch, is committed to the risks of malnutrition. She organized a first workshop, Friday November 15, on the theme of “eating well” in the Abbots’ room. She is offering others, called “Les Insatiables” Olympiads on November 22 and 28 in the afternoon, at the convention center.
The first workshop welcomed twelve participants. Entertainment was provided by two professional and friendly facilitators from the Seniors Area, Estelle and Charlène, and by a dietician from the Les Insatiables association in Toulouse. The objective of the latter is to raise awareness of sustainable and adapted food. Participants smelled, touched and tasted nutrient-rich foods such as pomegranate, celery, dried fruit or octopus. They were able to express themselves about their eating habits and question the dietician, in a studious and joyful atmosphere.
If the second workshop, that of November 22, is full, there are still places left for the Olympics on November 28, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This event is part of National Undernutrition Week which takes place throughout France until November 19, 2024. For the instigators of this action, the quality of nutrition is a public health issue. In fact, two million people, in particular 25% of people over 70 years old living alone, are affected by malnutrition in France. The Seniors Area invites the public to participate in the Olympics to test their knowledge of food. Registration at the Seniors area at 15 avenue Foch (04 11 95 08 08).
