«Our own movement.” This is the provisional title of his newly formed party Stefanou Kasselakis, in contrast to what he said during the pre-election period of the internal party elections in SYRIZA about “our SYRIZA”. With the obvious aim of remaining in the domestic political game and with no desire to leave Greece for the USA, as central officials of SYRIZA say, St. Kasselakis will try to gain vital political space in the next period.
Feverish meetings and processing of positions
The equation that Mr. Kasselakis is asked to solve is multifactorial and there are many problems, but he believes that he will overcome them with the strength of the volunteers who have surrounded him.
The meetings are feverish and continuous for the creation of the new party which will not be a pure-blooded leftist formation but will be, as it is said, a colorful mosaic that will appeal to citizens regardless of where they belonged or belong ideologically. SYRIZA calls it a “supermarket party”, which the Kasselakis side denies, speaking of a formation that the country needs in the 21st century, which will not smell of political mothballs and will have no reference to the party bureaucracy.
Mr. Kasselakis wants to have announced the new party by the beginning of December and this will be done with a big event, where the text of the founding declaration with the main positions will be presented to the citizens.
During this period, the positions and principles of the party are being processed and based on available information, the formation will refer to a US Democratic model. It is no coincidence that St. Kasselakis does not want to exclude voters and executives even from the ND. That is why when last Saturday, in the middle of the SYRIZA conference, his supporters gathered in the offices he has rented in Tavros shouted “Stefane, hard, let the Right fall” he prevented them from continuing, talking about the openings he will make and to the members and voters of the institutional Right who are “politically suffocated by the ND” or are dissatisfied with the existing political system.
In general, the basic positions of St. Kasselakis (e.g. a business friendly party) and during the pre-election period for the internal party elections in SYRIZA, when he was accused of referring to a party program.
Who is together, who thinks about it
However, the programmatic processing is ongoing and several positions are changing, as proposals and opinions of the MPs participating in this process are also incorporated, such as e.g. of Petrou Pappa and Alexandrou Avlonitis. The two aforementioned MPs together with Christidou Rally and her Malama Sunday they already submitted the first joint question. It is the power of St. Kasselakis this time in the Parliament after their independence a few days ago, while it is expected that the Theodora Tzakri who resigned as secretary of the KO.
From there there is much debate as to who else will follow. The State Member of Parliament Elena Akrita wished him good luck and stays with SYRIZA. But there is a question mark for them Evangelos Apostolakis, Yannis Sarakiotis, George Gavrilos and Iota Poulos, with the last three also resigning from positions of responsibility in the SYRIZA Central Committee but not becoming independent yet.
At the organizational level, the burden also falls on Thanos Moraitis who resigned as director of the KE but also to the help that will be offered at the regional level by former members of parliament who join him and who resigned a few days ago from the KE, such as Thanasis Oikonomouo Panagiotis Kouroumplish Olympia Teligioridou and the Hara Kafantari. But with him are also persons who make up a motley set that shows a “political mosaic”, namely the Nikos Karanikas (once his partner Alexis Tsipras), Evangelos Antonaroswhile it also has the support of other persons who remain to be seen if they will be actively involved, such as e.g. the former minister Aris Spiliotopoulos.
In essence, cores will be formed across Greece based on the support groups that were created for the internal party elections in SYRIZA. At the same time, because finances are also difficult, he will invest a lot in the promotion he has as a “political celebrity” from various shows that invite him (s.s.: protested the Kostas Zachariadis why they call him), but also on the Internet.

All citizens, regardless of their previous party affiliations. Our goal is to foster collaboration and dialogue among diverse groups to create a more unified and effective political approach.
Interviewer: Today we have the honor of speaking with two prominent figures in Greek politics, Mr. Stefanos Kasselakis and Mrs. Petrou Pappa. Mr. Kasselakis, you’ve just recently announced the formation of a new political party, with a focus on appealing to a wider spectrum of voters. Can you tell us more about your vision for this party and how it differs from your previous party, SYRIZA?
Stefanos Kasselakis: Thank you for having me. Our new party is not just about appealing to a wider spectrum of voters, but also about creating a more dynamic and forward-thinking political landscape in Greece. We want to break away from the traditional left-right paradigm and create a more inclusive, democratic, and business-friendly environment. We believe that this is what the people of Greece need in the 21st century, and we’re confident that we can achieve this by drawing from the best ideas and principles of both left and right-wing politics.
Interviewer: That’s an interesting approach, Mrs. Pappa. As one of the MPs who has submitted joint questions with Mr. Kasselakis, can you explain how you arrived at this decision and what you hope to achieve through this new party?
Petrou Pappa: Well, I believe that the existing political system in Greece has become stagnant and outdated. It no longer represents the diverse interests of the people and needs a major overhaul. By working with Stefanos and our other colleagues, we hope to create a truly democratic party that listens to its members and responds to their concerns. We want to be a party for everyone, regardless of their political affiliations or backgrounds.
Interviewer: Speaking of diversity, there have been rumors about the party potentially attracting members from other political parties, such as New Democracy. Can you elaborate on this and how you plan to integrate these voices into your party platform?
Stefanos Kasselakis: Absolutely. We want to create a broad tent that brings together people from all walks of life and across the political spectrum. We believe that this kind of inclusivity is essential for a healthy democracy. We won’t be bound by traditional left-right labels and will focus on creating policies that benefit
