His heart stopped beating three days after the anesthetic injection. But to establish the causes that led to the cardiorespiratory arrest of Margaret Spada, the 22-year-old girl who died on November 7, three days after rhinoplasty surgery in Rome, we will have to wait for the results of the toxicological and histological tests. These are the results of the autopsy carried out at the Tor Vergata polyclinic in which the medical-legal experts appointed by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office and the civil party lawyer of the family of the young woman originally from Lentini in the province of Syracuse participated.

Pending the continuation of the investigations, Monday 18 November will be declared a city mourning in Lentini (municipality in the province of Syracuse), the city of origin of Agata Margaret Spada. This was announced by the mayor of Lentini Rosario Lo Faro who published on social media the union ordinance for the proclamation of city mourning on the day in which the girl’s funeral will be celebrated. “The proclamation of city mourning – says the mayor – is the way in which the administration and the entire city intend to solemnly and tangibly express their condolences for the tragic event”. The choice was to express “the condolences of the entire Lentino community and the feelings of participation in the pain of the family members for the premature and tragic loss”.
“Nobody like her anymore”
The girl’s parents also expressed pain through their lawyer, Alessandro Vinci: “We hope that no one will ever be a victim of what happened to our daughter Margaret. We ask that our pain be respected.”
Eur clinic seized
In relation to the death of Margaret Spada, the Capitoline prosecutor’s office opened an investigation and registered two doctors, father and son, in the register of suspects. Both are under investigation for manslaughter, but other charges could be added once details relating to the authorizations that the practice should have had come to light, given that the structure was illegal and did not have permits to carry out surgical operations. This detail was explained by the president of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca.
The governor of Lazio clarified that “The offices are finishing their investigations, but I can say that in 2008 the NAS had detected the lack of authorization, which they had then tried to request in 2009 and therefore could not carry out surgical or minor surgery activities” . During the first inspection by the NAS carabinieri in the facility managed by father and son, no medical records or patient files were found. The clinic was advertised on Tiktok and advertised plastic surgery procedures at competitive prices.
