The CEO of Grove Street Games, the original studio behind GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition, is not happy that the developer was dropped from the game’s credits. Rockstart Games removed the name of the studio during the recent update, which restores the original graphical atmosphere of the games.
Last week, Rockstar Games launched an amazing update for GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition. GTA III as well as Vice City and San Andreas received several improvements, including a return to the graphic tone of the original games. One of the biggest changes: Rockstar Games removed the Grove Street Games logo from each game’s splash screen. Surprisingly enough, the studio staff is still present in the final series.
The update caused bad blood with Grove Street Games CEO Thomas Williamson, who was unaware of the change. Through X he criticizes Rockstar because the logo has been removed. In addition, he writes that Grove Street Games was responsible for many fixes in the latest update.
Speaking entirely hypothetically: It’s a dick move to remove primary developers from credits in an update, especially when an update involves hundreds of fixes provided by those developers that stayed out of players’ hands for years.

So Williamson claims that Grove Street Games is responsible for all the settings in the latest update, but that Rockstar Games kept them on purpose to fine-tune the game itself with graphical updates. However, we should not forget that the original condition of the trilogy at the time of launch was quite disastrous. Rockstar Games obviously wanted more control. What do you think?
