MEXICO CITY, November 17 (EL UNIVERSAL).- Next Friday, November 22, EL UNIVERSAL will carry out a new series of talks with prominent columnists. On this occasion, the renowned economist and journalist Carlos Loret de Mola will appear before subscribers of the newspaper to address the topic: “The beginning of Sheinbaum’s six-year term: expectations and challenges.”
The appointment will be at 11:00 a.m. at the facilities of El Gran Diario de México, where attendees will have the opportunity to listen, first-hand, to the columnist’s reflections on the expectations of the beginning of the mandate of Claudia Sheinbaum, the first woman in the history of Mexico to occupy the presidency.
Carlos Loret de Mola
Carlos Loret de Mola is one of the most influential journalists in Mexico. With training in economics from ITAM, he began his career in journalism at the age of 16. He has been awarded the King of Spain International Journalism Award and the National Journalism Award of Mexico on multiple occasions.
Currently, Loret is a columnist for EL UNIVERSAL in the “Reporter Stories” section and has extensive experience in the media, both in television, radio and the written press. In addition, he has collaborated with the Washington Post since 2019.
Sheinbaum and the new six-year term
Last October 1 marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Mexico, not only because of the change of six-year terms, but also because, for the first time, a woman holds the presidency of the country. Claudia Sheinbaum takes office at a time of great expectations, as she has promised to continue with the Fourth Transformation (4T) project, initiated by her predecessor, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Although Sheinbaum has signaled his intention to stay the course of the government, he is expected to make his own stamp on public management. Loret de Mola’s talk will be an opportunity to discuss these challenges and possible differences in the new president’s governance.
