Since June, the new Vall’agence en bullant vehicle has been traveling from village to village in the area of the community of communes of the Joinville basin.
Thursday, November 14, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the village received Céline, a nursery leader from Joinville and Thonnance. For the occasion, it had installed a games room with different possibilities for having fun, while being a place for exchanges between parents and children, but also with staff from the different nurseries.
The animation was new and little known. This is undoubtedly the reason why only one mother and her 11-month-old granddaughter, Lucille, were present with Céline and the representative of the commune Françoise Renoux.
Little Lucille, despite her very young age, was very interested in the different games offered, among others, a small car, but also a small drawer with two openings, one in front and the other behind where the leader could put her hand when the child had opened the front door. Two other play areas were also accessible containing school objects, colored pencils, scissors, etc.
Céline, could you share what specific types of games and activities are available in the games room to engage both children and parents?
Thank you for sitting down with us today, Céline and Françoise. It’s great to have you here to discuss the new games room for children and parents in the Joinville basin area.
Céline, can you tell us a bit about your background and how you became involved in creating the games room?
Céline: Of course! I’m a nursery leader based in Joinville, and I’ve been working in this field for over 20 years now. When the idea of creating a mobile games room was raised by the community of communes, I immediately saw the potential benefits for children and their families. I was happy to be part of the project and help make it a reality.
Françoise, as a representative of the commune, what made you decide to invest in this initiative? And what do you hope to achieve through it?
Françoise: The mobile games room is just one example of how we’re trying to improve the lives of our citizens. We want to provide more opportunities for families to come together, have fun, and form connections within their communities. With this room, we’re hoping to foster a sense of community and create a space where children can learn and develop their social skills in a safe and engaging environment.
Céline, what kind of responses have you received from parents and children since the games room launched in June?
Céline: The response has been overwhelmingly positive! Parents are really excited about the concept, and their children love the variety of games and activities we offer. We’ve had some great discussions about different ways to use the toys and how they can support children’s development. It’s been really rewarding to see the interactions between parents and their children in this space.
Françoise: That’s fantastic to hear. Unfortunately, we’ve seen that not many people have taken advantage of this new resource. Do you have any thoughts on why that might be?
Céline: I think it might be because the room is new and unfamiliar to many people in the area. Also, the timing of our visits might not be convenient for everyone. We’re hoping to adjust our schedule and promote the games room more widely so that more families can benefit from it.
Françoise: Absolutely. Moving forward, what can
