On November 17th, 2024 at around 11:05 a.m. there was a fire in a car on the A11 towards Poland, near the Penkun junction. The 64-year-old Polish driver and the two other passengers were uninjured by the fire. The vehicle burned out completely. According to initial investigations, a technical defect caused the fire in the vehicle. The Ford Grand C-Max car suffered damage worth EUR 9,000. The Gramzow motorway maintenance department was used to clean the road and the Penkun, Schmölln, Gramzow and Hohen Wüstrow fire departments were used to extinguish the fire.
