Weather in Baden-Württemberg: rain and storm, then snow

The sun still appeared sporadically in Baden-Württemberg on Sunday. The new week begins with rain and wind. Meteorologists are even expecting snow on Wednesday.

At the start of the week in Baden-Württemberg we have to get boots and gloves ready – it will be wet and cold, and meteorologists are expecting snow by the middle of the week. A spokesman for the German Weather Service (DWD) said in Stuttgart that it could initially rain in parts of the country with milder temperatures.

Be careful of squalls at higher altitudes

According to the DWD, there will also be widespread squalls of up to 80 kilometers per hour on Tuesday. At higher altitudes, the gusts could even reach speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour – accompanied by rain. This could not only be uncomfortable, but also dangerous. The DWD advises securing everything “that is vulnerable to wind” by Tuesday.

It’s supposed to snow on Wednesday

Meteorologists expect the “real” winter with cold and snow on Wednesday. Then the temperatures should reach a maximum of one to four degrees. Snow is to be expected, especially at higher altitudes in Baden-Württemberg. From around 400 meters onwards, the snow can remain. This means that the roads could become dangerously slippery at temperatures around zero degrees!
