Illegal spills in at least fifteen points of the city, undifferentiated waste accumulated without any respect for the timetable collectionin particular in the popular districts and in some hamlets, dirty streets, due to the nightlife but not only, and bins not emptied. These are some of the reports that have arrived in abundance in recent weeks municipal offices and which are often found, documented by photos and videos, also on social media. An increasingly widespread phenomenon that is more than known to everyone which, in addition to the usual streets, reported several times to professionals, is also appearing in other sites in the territory.
To the point of pushing environmental inspectors to evaluate the possibility of turning to the judicial police. In the Municipality’s sights there are above all the cellar emptyers and the small companies that fuel the illegal waste traffic but for the operators of Isvec, the company that deals with the urban hygiene servicepart of the responsibility is also attributable to uncivilized citizens. Among the marked streets are via Edison, via Sossietta Scialla, viale delle Industrie, via Talamonti (there is also an ecological island here), via Cima, vicolo Scalzone, via Graefer but also via Vivaldi, via De Martino, viale Lincoln , vicolo Della Ratta, via GM Bosco, piazza Cattaneo and piazza Pitesti, via Dietro Corte in San Clemente and via Giulia in Centurano.

The Municipality’s Environment office makes it known that they are aware of the situation and that they have activated a series of procedures in order to also involve the other police forces and all the authorities responsible for controlling the territory, in combating the phenomenon. In terms of investigative activity, a series of investigations are already underway, which could bring important news in the coming weeks. «GThe offices now receive reports almost daily – says Roberto Peluso, group leader of Caserta in the centre – to the point of having to draw up a timetable of interventions to guarantee the cleanliness and decorum of the city”. The councilor of the League, Donato Aspromonte, is critical and points the finger at Isvec: «We have been examining their work for months and the service is not always carried out completelyI am referring in particular to street sweeping, also because the vehicles available to the operators are obsolete and inadequate and yet this contract costs the Municipality around one million euros per month”.
The intervention
Yesterday morning, meanwhile, in view of the weekendecological operators were busy collecting and cleaning the access roads to the citystarting from viale Carlo di Borbone and via Roma right into the historic centre. «Eradicating the phenomenon of irregular spills is difficult, explains Pierpaolo Puoti of Isvec, we have been trying for years but with poor results. Just as we believe it is counterproductive to simply remove the piles every time without carrying out any fines. It means telling those who spill illegally and those who do not sort waste that they can continue to do so without being punished. The collaboration of citizens would be needed. Our appeal is to report any illegal spillage. But an intensification of checks and fines by the municipal police would also be needed, only in this way will it be possible to obtain a result.”
Finally, on the controversy over waste bins in the street, he clarifies: «Almost a thousand of them are positioned throughout the territory, we think they are more than enough, but we are ready to install others if requested”.
