/ world today news/ Yesterday’s promise to marry the finance minister is completely legally untenable and has no legal significance. There is no debt reduction because it was accepted as entered.
This was stated by the leader of the BSP, Mikhail Mikov.
Mikov announced that he will send a letter to President Rosen Plevneliev, which will outline the “unconstitutional actions of those who voted yesterday in the National Assembly”. According to Mikov, one cannot talk about the rule of law when the National Assembly does not respect the constitution. “The president cannot have a claim to be the head of state when he does not comply with the constitution and in advance, before he has familiarized himself with it, says that he is not considering a veto option,” commented Mikov.
Mikov was categorical that this debt of BGN 16 billion is not a question of reduction, because it was accepted in the form in which it was submitted. When commitments are made in international contracts, they are also enforceable as per the contract and the agents should seek penalties, the BSP leader warned.
Regarding the resignation request of Georgi Parvanov as leader of ABV, Mikov commented that “there are many requests”, but he would not like to interfere in the internal life of other parties. “Unlike ABV, who are often tempted to comment on the internal party life in the BSP, we should not give in to such temptations,” he pointed out and admitted that he had conversations with Georgi Parvanov.
When asked if he was inclined to dialogue with Parvanov in the future, the leader of the BSP replied succinctly that he had always been sufficiently communicative, including with Parvanov and ABV. Let’s not put an “if”, let’s see how things will develop, he summed up.
