Mexico City. This year, an economic spill of 165 billion pesos is expected during El Buen Fin, a figure 10 percent higher than what was obtained in 2023, said Octavio de la Torre Stéffano, president of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism ( Concanaco-Servytur).
The leader of this Confederation – which brings together 257 chambers of commerce from across the country – attended President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s morning meeting, where he reported that El Buen Fin will take place from November 15 to 18.
In this edition, the fourteenth in history, the participation of 190 thousand companies, family businesses, shops, service providers, tourists, and offerers of promotions and discounts is expected.
“From here, having the President as a witness, I invite the owners of restaurants, transporters, doctors, inns, clothing stores, toy stores, travel agencies, hotels, schools, beauty salons, department stores, everyone who They have an economic activity and they get up every day to raise the curtain, they serve their clients, and they are an example to follow, they should register on the elbuenfin.concanaco.com.mx platform”, for which they will have up to on the 14th of this month, he noted.
In this space, he said, those interested in participating in this dynamic will be able to display their offers and promotions to the general public, and will provide consumers with information for a safe purchase and to locate their business and its offers.
De la Torre Stéffano referred to El Buen Fin as “a very Mexican tradition” that has been consolidated year after year. He trusted that with the support of the federal president “we will be here next year to celebrate, together with you, the 15 winters of this tradition.”
In 2011, he said, this activity emerged “with the objective of promoting internal consumption in our communities, local consumption and strengthening small and medium-sized businesses that, as we all know, are the heart of the economic development of our country and that today “For today it is necessary to protect and shield.”
He explained that Concanaco-Servytur represents and groups 4.8 million businessmen in the country, mainly owners of family businesses dedicated to commerce, services and tourism, who make up the tertiary sector of the economy and represent 66 percent of the GDP, as well as about seven out of ten formal jobs.
Last year “we supported 63.7 percent of Income Tax and 77.8 percent of VAT collection,” he emphasized.
The president of the Confederation explained that consumers will be able to consult the promotions, offers and discounts in the El Buen Fin App, where they will also be able to find out about the businesses, businesses and companies registered on the platform.
“This app will tell us who and where they have promotions and offers, exclusive promotions, geolocation and, above all, personalized experiences,” he said.
