After the Saint-Hubert cattle fair in Lavernose-Lacasse which highlighted the excellence of French production, in a short circuit, of our breeders, during the Les Pyrénéennes show, in Saint-Gaudens and the cattle competition of butchery, 7 cows were awarded prizes and sold at auction out of the 180 presented by around a hundred breeders.
The Sentenac Eric butcher’s shop in Lavernose-Lacasse and the Bretelle butcher’s shop in Muret shared the cow which received the grand prize of excellence 100% 31 (born, raised, fattened and slaughtered in 31), from cow breeding limousines, by Jérôme Bayle, in Montesquieu-Volvestre. During a tasting in Lavernose-Lacasse, Cédric Daure and Eric Dinnat, presidents of the competition, presented Jérôme Bayle with an additional prize: the special prize for artisanal butchery, in partnership with the French confederation of butchery, charcuterie and caterers.
Quality and short circuit
“A great reward for Jérôme Bayle and a source of pride in offering meat that is as high quality as it is local,” note Eric and Chrystèle Sentenac. “As close as possible to their customers, they explained the breeding method, their profession and quite simply their passion.” The customers who enjoyed it were delighted to chat and reassured about the contents of their plate.
Mercosur will impact the short supply chain of excellence for French meat
During this meeting the general public discussed current issues in the agricultural world, including the imminent signing of Mercosur, which will authorize the importation into France of food products whose production has been prohibited in France and Europe for more than 20 years. . “Beef with hormones, transgenic corn, industrial chickens, non-respect of animal welfare in breeding in Feedlots”, protests Jérôme Bayle, wondering “How can we authorize the French to eat what they are given? banned from production for more than 30 years, because it is harmful to health; GMO corn from deforestation uses 77.5% of active ingredient banned in France since the 2000s! “. A tough fight led by Jérôme Bayle up to the highest authorities, to ultimately preserve the health of consumers.
