A big man Moroccan aid convoy left the port of Motril in Andalusia on Saturday morning towards Valencia. The convoy consists of 13 trucks, including 12 pumping trucks and a repair vehicle, and also carrying 34 Moroccan volunteers who will help the population affected after the recent floods.
According to the EFE news agency, this is the second convoy that Morocco has sent in a few days. Finally The first group of 25 trucks and 70 professionals arrived on Wednesday in Motril, before going to the affected areas. Moroccan teams will primarily focus on clean-up work, such as clearing debris and unclogging sewers.

The convoy, which arrived from the port of Tangier-Med on the ferry “Denia Ciutat Creativa”, was welcomed in Motril by a large delegation of security forces, civil defense and port police. The Moroccan consul in Granada and Almería, Soumia Fhati, and the director of the port authority, Vicente Tovar, were in charge of the work.

José García Fuentes, President of the Port of Motril, emphasized the vital role of port infrastructure in emergency situations. “They make it possible to respond quickly and efficiently to the needs of the people,” he said.
