First big highlight of the 2024 winter meeting, the Prix de Bretagne – America Races Q1will see the return to the Vincennes cinder of the best trotters in the world who all arrive with the knife between their teeth to try to obtain their qualifying ticket for the Prix d’Amérique Legend Race. Only the first four in this race will obtain their ticket in this first “B”, which should give us a great spectacle on the 2700 meters of the big track. In the absence of champions Idao de Tillard et Go on Boy the event promises to be very open and could well fall into the hands of an outsider.
The outsider by Lucas Quentin
1 – Ideal Ligneries : For his first attempt in the boxes of Jean-Philippe Monclinthe son of Repeat Love won from the start in the 12th stage of the Grand National Trotting in Nantes. Certainly, it was not the toughest stage of the “GNT”, but it is increasingly difficult to win as soon as you return to competition. In his early youth, the representative of the Roger Wittmann fought against the best of his generation, namely Idao de Tillard or even Izoard Vedaquais. His mentor declared following his recent victory: “the objective now would be to qualify it for the last weekend of January“. Back at his best level and with high morale, Ideal Ligneries has the means to qualify for the America Prize 2025 by ranking in the first four of this “Q1”.

18 – Hooker Berry : I bought it again after its last release in the South West Grand Prixit was not his sport at all since he is not a good right-hander. This race must have served as a transition to those around him between the UET Masters Final and this Brittany Prize. He also ran very well during his penultimate outing at Vincennes on the speed course of the main track, taking advantage of the strong pace to achieve a superb end to the race. Certainly already too much unlike others and used to big winter games, he certainly needs others to bring him back, but we know him, he will give everything to finish, I believe in that a lot. I think that his entourage wants to qualify him from this event for the beauty before leaving him alone to prepare him again for the beauty.
Dylan Venet’s surprise
12 – Emeraude de Bais : The mare of Benjamin Goetz has just assured us of his form during his last victorious outing in the South West Grand Prix. She arrives at the top against an opposition which is certainly not yet 100%. In addition, with the new system of four qualifying places in each “Q”, the competitors will start with a knife between their teeth and the pace imposed on the event should be important, which will serve this wait-and-see attitude. His formidable burst of speed should hurt, especially since we know the talent of Franck Nivard in this type of meeting which constitutes a considerable advantage in this magnificent event.
