The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) noted that up to 63 thousand workers were laid off in the period between January and October 2024. The unemployed workers were spread across several areas.
Given from data from the Ministry of Manpower’s Satu Data, Sunday (17/11/2024), most of the laid off workers were in the DKI Jakarta Department.
“In the period January-October 2024 63,947 workers were laid off (employment limit). The most unemployed workers were in DKI Jakarta Department, which is about 22.68 percent of the reported number of unemployed workers,” read the statement on the site, Sunday (17/11/ 2024).

More precisely, the number of workers laid off in several areas was recorded at more than 10,000 workers. The DKI regions are Jakarta with 14,501 employees, Central Java with 12,489 employees and Banten with 10,702 employees.
Meanwhile, the number of workers laid off in Riau Province was 1,068 workers, Bangka Belitung 1,894 workers, West Java 8,508 workers, DI Yogyakarta 1,245 workers, East Java 3,694 workers.
Then, the number of workers laid off in Central Sulawesi was 1,812 workers and 1,156 workers in Southeast Sulawesi. Several other districts also reported layoffs of fewer than 1,000 workers.
