The president’s salary is equal to two deputies’ salaries, and last month they were increased by 186 BGN. Thus, the monthly money of the deputies became BGN 2,886. The salaries of people’s representatives are formed by the average salary in the public sector from the last month of the quarter, multiplied by three.
The increase in MP salaries also automatically raises the lifetime remuneration of former heads of state Petar Stoyanov and Georgi Parvanov. By law, it is 60 percent of the current president’s salary and now equals BGN 3,463.20.
