“Snapchat Killer” murder case Liberty German & Abby Williams (page 227)

@vonCarstein
You’re asking whether the prison conditions in Westville at the time could be used as a reason for an appeal? There may certainly be a few reasons for an appeal in this case, but the circumstances of the detention probably don’t. His lawyers had already presented all of this in a hearing, and the judge reacted to it. In the meantime, RA even wanted to stay there. In my opinion, after an investigation into the prison conditions, the judge even said that RA would be treated more favorably than the other inmates. I would be happy to link the process for you

Which, in my opinion, means that the defense’s allegations were remedied if Allen even wanted to stay there at the time.
So no, I don’t see that as a profound reason for an appeal. The appeal is about something else, for example the judge’s bias, which means he is very inclined towards the public prosecutor’s office. Or the judge rejects the strange theory of the defense involving the Odinist sect or something like that, i.e. the defense’s alternative story that the girls were murdered in a sacrificial ritual. They probably weren’t allowed to present that… although we know such alternative theories from other cases… it’s not unusual to construct such theories.
Another reason could be an expert’s expertise, e.g. on the cartridge found, etc. So such reasons will certainly make it into an appeal.

Here are a few prognostic scenarios as to what could happen next for “Rick”
Richard Allen. Including the conceivable reasons for an appeal.

for When will the sentence be announced? On December 20th? You then have 30 days to submit this to the Appellate Court.
RA’s wife loudly proclaimed after the verdict “this is far from over”
There are probably already the usual support websites… Free Richard or something like that.
Well at least he still has a few options to contest it. Up to the Supreme Court in my opinion. It will probably be a long journey and ultimately a costly one. If there ever is a new process here (which I very much doubt) it will be a very long road for RA.
